SOME TRADITIONS

EASTER EGGS: Easter Eggs are a very old tradition going to a time before Christianity. Eggs are a symbol of spring and new life.
In the past the eggs were hard boiled and dyed in various colours. Nowadays people give each other Easter Eggs made of chocolate.
British kids play "Easter Egg Hunt" and in some áreas "Egg Rolling" is quite popular; people take the eggs to the top of a hill and roll them down . The first egg to get to the foot of the hill is the winner.
HOT CROSS BUNS: Hot Cross Buns are made on Good Friday. They are a  spicy yeast  bun topped with a cross of lemon flavoured icing.
THE EASTER BUNNY:  Rabbits,  due  to their fecund nature, have always been a symbol of fertility. The Easter bunny may actually  be an Easter hare (liebre). The hare was a companion of the ancient Moon Goddess and of Eostre.
The origin of  the bunny as an Easter symbol is German.
In the UK children believe that if they are good the "Easter Bunny" will leave chocolate eggs for them.
